We first met Australian Shepherds on
a trip to the Melbourne show in 1998. They were impossible to resist and
by the end of the year we owned three Aussies. The following year we
imported the beautiful Sage from the USA and had our first litter of pups,
just four days after she was released from quarantine. Since then we've
had ten litters and our pups have done us proud in family homes,
obedience and agility homes and in the show ring both in Australia and
internationally. Unlike most breeders, our emphasis is not on
breeding dogs to win show ribbons. We rarely have time to show our dogs
and are much more concerned with breeding dogs that are fun to live with,
great looking, and good companions for active people.
Aussies aren't for everyone. They are an active and super-intelligent
breed that was originally designed to work closely with a human leader for
hours on end. Although Aussies demonstrate a wide range of temperaments,
they generally like having a job to do and expect to spend most of their
time in close proximity to other family members, even if it's only
sleeping on the kitchen floor. If you provide the right
lifestyle and appropriate socialisation from the time you take your Aussie
home they are absolutely terrific family dogs. But please think before you buy.
Your dog depends on you for everything, including its life. Follow the links
